Missing Buttons (Try Free / Buy Now / Play)

If you are using Windows 10 and notice the buttons on the game detail pages are missing?

We believe this issue was caused by the latest Microsoft Security Bulletin (MS17-005). Basically, there is an issue with Internet Explorer and Adobe Flash installed on the PC, which can be resolved by disabling Internet Explorer, then enabling Internet Explorer again. The process is simple but will take a few steps. You will need to be sure to reboot each time the instructions state it - for Windows 10 PCs that is the only way to get the steps to be completed.

You may also have to ensure Adobe Flash is set up correctly. Those steps will be below.

Let's try the easiest solution first.

  • Go to your Control Panel
  • Go to Programs
  • Go to Programs and Features
  • Click Turn Windows features on or off
  • This will open a pop-up.
  • Find the Internet Explorer 11 and uncheck it
  • (Screenshot attached)
  • Then click OK (you'll get a WARNING pop up. Click YES)
  • Click OK again
  • Be sure to save anything you might have open
  • Then Restart

Then we will enable it!

  • Go to your Control Panel
  • Go to Programs
  • Go to Programs and Features
  • Click Turn Windows features on or off
  • This will open a pop-up.
  • Find the Internet Explorer 11 and Check it
  • Then click OK
  • Then Restart

Once that is done, open up the Games App. You should see all the buttons/screenshots for games - everything you saw before.
If you still don't see them.

  1. be sure you have the most recent version of the Games App.
    Launch Games App
    Go to the Settings
    You should see
    WildTangent Games App: 4.3.3.66

If you don't see that? Uninstall the Games App, reboot the computer, then head over to http://www.wildtangent.com/GamesApp and install the Games App.

Still not seeing the buttons?
Adobe Flash is the culprit. Now, Flash is going away, but for the time being it's needed to properly display a whole wide variety of websites and the Games App.
We will need to go through the disable steps from before, but with an installing of Flash step in the middle.

  • Go to your Control Panel
  • Go to Programs
  • Go to Programs and Features
  • Click Turn Windows features on or off
  • This will open a pop-up.
  • Find the Internet Explorer 11 and uncheck itIE_Win10.png
  • Then click OK (you'll get a WARNING pop up. Click YES)
  • Click OK again
  • Be sure to save anything you might have open
  • Then Restart
  • Launch Chrome (or Bing or Firefox) and install Flash. Go here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
  • Follow the prompts
  • Then Reboot the computer.
  • Launch the Games App (you might still be missing the buttons)
  • Then enable Internet Explorer
  • Go to your Control Panel
  • Go to Programs
  • Go to Programs and Features
  • Click Turn Windows features on or off
  • This will open a pop-up.
  • Find the Internet Explorer 11 and Check it
  • Then click OK
  • Then Restart

Then ONE LAST step - Enable Flash in Internet Explorer. This is a link from the Adobe site and has some great screenshots to help with those steps: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-10-ie.html

Then, open the Games App, head to a game detail page, and see the Try Free / Buy Buttons.

Windows 8 or 8.1
They should be able to REPAIR Internet Explorer. The following link provides information troubleshooting Internet Explorer: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/ie-crashes-stops-working
