Level 99
The highest level that a FATE character can achieve is level 99.
If you've made it...Congratulations!
If you would like to continue playing FATE, you may "retire" the character in town, and start a descendant, who will inherit some of his or her ancestor's fame as an "heirloom."
Character Backups
If you need to reinstall FATE, you can make a backup copy of your character to save your progress. To do so, simply make a copy of the save folder. They will commonly be located in the Persistent Folder and can be found in the following locations on most OS types:
FATE
C:\ProgramData\WildTangent\fate\persistent
FATE: Undiscovered Realms
C:\ProgramData\WildTangent\fateundiscoveredrealms\persistent
FATE: The Traitor Soul
C:\ProgramData\WildTangent\fatethetraitorsoul\persistent
FATE: The Cursed King
C:\ProgramData\WildTangent\fatethecursedking\persistent
Please Note: These folders and files may be hidden. You will need to enable hidden files to see them.
Once you have reinstalled the game, place the save folder back into the persistent folder, in the same place you found it. This will restore your characters.
If your Fate SAVE folder is not in the indicated folder, follow these instructions instead:
- Right click on your Fate icon, and choose Properties.
- On the Shortcut tab, click the Find Target button. That will take you to your Fate folder.
- Just copy the SAVE folder that is inside the Fate folder to a safe spot. This will back up your characters.
When you need to restore your characters, follow the steps again to open your Fate folder, and copy the SAVE folder back into it. If you're installing a newer version of Fate in place of your old one, be sure to follow the steps above to put your characters back in the new folder.
Character Stuck in the Dungeon
If your character is unable to move, due to obstacles in the dungeon, we can help you out. To "unstick" your character, you can use the game's "cheat" function to move him or her up a level in the dungeon.
When in the dungeon, click and hold the CTRL and SHIFT keys, and then press the ~ key, which is located next to the "1" on the top of the keyboard.
A question mark will appear. When you see this question mark, type ASCEND 1 and then hit ENTER. This will bring your character up 1 level, and he or she will be able to move freely again.
