Game Not Launching or Showing a “DLL Missing” Error
If a game won’t launch and displays a DLL error such as:
“MSVCP140.dll not found”
“VCRUNTIME140.dll not found”
“MSVCR110.dll not found”
“gameLauncher_errordllnotfound”
This means some Windows system files required to run the game are missing or not properly registered on your device.
Why This Happens
Most WildTangent games use Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libraries to run correctly.
If these are missing or out of date, Windows can’t start the game and will show a DLL error message.
You can resolve the issue by manually installing the Microsoft files that many games rely on.
Step 1: Install the Required Microsoft Files
-
Go to these official Microsoft download pages:
-
From each page, download and install both of these files:
vc_redist.x86.exevc_redist.x64.exe
Once all four installations are complete, restart your computer.
These files are safe, official Microsoft components that are commonly required by many games and apps.
Step 2: Uninstall and Reinstall the game
